Well, on 10 January 2007 I crossed that major threshold in life. Age 40! I'm still trying to figure out how I made it. I was able to envision myself at age 30 and below. Age 40 seemed some far off mist that really didn't exist. I'm here now and with a 4 month old to boot! What a wild ride!

For the big 4-0, I went to see the Rockets vs. Lakers. My wife totally shocked me with that one! Kobe vs. T-Mac! Yeah, baby! Plus a night at the Westin Galleria hotel. *shakes head* My wife totally got me on that one. I had no idea she was pulling this off! Everything was perfect. The only thing that would have added to the whole thing was for Momma to be here. :(

Alas, I pray that this 40th year of existence will be a year of increase for me and my family. Thanks to all those who remembered my day! My God bless you with overflowing joy!

Yipee!! The Storm/Black Panther mini-series goes on sale this week. I'm saving every last penny I can find (in the couch, under the bed, in the car) to buy TWO copies.

Naturally, this has inspired me to write another drabble. It fills in the missing scene from Black Panther 10 to Black Panther 11.

Shy brown eyes plead with him for a positive response. Her brother nods slightly indicating his tacit approval. The monarch shifts his gaze from them to his fighting companion. His companion's lips curl into a large smile as if to say, “I'd already be making my move.”

Han's daughter is stunningly beautiful. T'challa has no reservations about her ability to make a perfect wife: completely subservient to his every whim. He shakes his head. While she would fulfill any man's carnal fantasies, he's wanting a queen. Someone with which to forge an unbreakable dynasty. Only one candidate qualifies.

“I'm sorry.”
It's getting closer!! The Storm/Black Panther series is almost here! I'm gonna buy two copies of each issue!! In anticipation here's another little drabble:

HER PLACE

The people in the Kenyan highlands revere her as the Wind Rider. The Hottentots of the vast savanna sing her praises as Life Goddess. Half a world away, people are divided. Is she heroine, mutant menace, or just some elaborate hoax of the media? The former ruling majority of South Africa regard her as Public Enemy #2 and destined for depths of Hell. The title “Queen of Wakanda” is her newest qualifier as the nation rejoices at her coronation.

She herself has wondered where her place is in the Grand Scheme. Tonight, he lovingly answers her question in the bedchambers.
Ancient History really has me thinking. So, I've done another musing. Mild Spoilers for 'Ancient History'

A swoosh opened the door. The Dark Knight slipped through the portal. After glancing at Vixen's vitals, he turned to the Green Lantern.

“Why are you still here?”

Taken slightly aback, Stewart could only stammer, “P-Pardon me?”

“Why are you still here?”

Having regained his composure, the Lantern growled “Where else am I supposed to be?”

Batman simply spun and headed to the door. “We need to talk.”

Stewart wanted to remain seated, but the intensity of Batman's glare brought him to his feet. Sighing, he lightly kissed Vixen's sleeping form. With eyes now blazing a fluorescent green, Stewart extended the invitation out of the room.

“Ok, Bruce, what's so bloody important that you took me away from...”

Batman cut him off. “Do you love her?”

Once again Stewart could only stumble through his response. “I care deeply for Mari, she's a very beautiful woman.”

“That's not what I asked. Do you love her?”

“I'm not sure what you're getting...”

“This is a very simple question, Lantern. Do you love Shayera?”

Stewart's jaw dropped slightly as the realization dawned on him. “How much did you tell her?”

“Enough. You still haven't answered the question.”

Stewart's gaze grew shallow. “What's love got to do with it?” His face hardened. “I'm not fate's whore.”

Batman nodded almost imperceptibly. “No. But what about being her pimp?” Silently, Batman whirled to leave.

John stood frozen. Narrowing his eyes he called, “Bruce, have you checked the mirror lately? I saw a few gray hairs.”
Enjoy!

Being a king isn’t everything people make it out to be. Sure there are some incredible perks. Money, power, and prestige mere mortals dream to acquire, along with the droves of women who long to be your consort.

Women! One man called them the crown jewel of God’s creation. Some ancients saw them as receptacles for their genetic material. Another man said they the universe’s most mysterious creatures. The song writer wrote that this is a man’s world, but it’s nothing without a woman or girl.

Women! How many would he audition and send away disappointed before acknowledging the obvious?

I've really been into the Black Panther lately. I like Rex Hudlin's take on him so far. He makes T'challa not only kingly and bad black to the bone, but he has him arrogant almost to the point of recklessness, even Rogue pointed that out. However, Rogue and Storm and agree that T'challa is HOT! I'm also glad to see that Ororo and T'challa almost seem to know that they are made/destined for one another. That payoff at the end of Black Panther 9 made my month!

Now to the other side of the coin, the Boondocks animated show. Wow! I can't explain how crazy that show is. I've read mixed reviews, but I think Aaron McGruder is now to able to show more graphical his satirical wit. If you haven't seen the show, especially those of us who are of African descent, check it out on Sundays at 11:00 EST or 10:00 CST. WARNING: THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS!!

All of this bull**** could've been avoided had Philly simply said we'll examine the contract. That's it. But no!
